The Challenge
Reflective practice is mandated in every modern teaching framework — but most educators still scribble notes in a journal that nobody reads. The founder, a former school leader, wanted to give teachers a structured way to reflect, see patterns over weeks, and prove their development to inspectors and themselves.
01 - Cross-platform — desktop for reports, mobile for quick reflection |
02 - Complex data viz: weekly trends, per-question breakdown, class history |
03 - Privacy-first — reflections never leave the teacher's account |
04 - Onboarding had to feel like a journal, not enterprise software |
Our Approach
We designed mobile and web in parallel, mobile for capture, web for analysis. Reflections take 60 seconds on the phone after a lesson; the data feeds a dashboard that the teacher reviews weekly. Charts were sketched with real classroom data before any pixel was painted.
01
Frame
Workshops with 8 working teachers. Threw out 60% of the original feature list. Locked in 5 reflection questions.
02
Visualise
Designed dashboard charts around real classroom data. Tested with educators before building anything.
03
Build
Web dashboard, native iOS + Android apps, shared backend. Charts library tuned for sub-second renders.
04
Roll Out
Pilot with two UK schools, then GCC expansion, weekly support sessions with the founder during launch.

Customers testimonials
The dashboard is the part that surprised me most. I expected a journal app. Zaawia gave me something I can show a school inspector and have them understand exactly how I'm developing as a teacher.
